High temperature strip curtains from Steel Guard Safety are typically used to contain heat loss and control internal oven temperatures. The High Temperature Strip Curtains allow a passthrough solution for areas where product or people need to move through while containing extreme temperatures. Commonly used on ovens, such as coke ovens that feed parts, these strip curtains shield and insulate against extreme industrial heat during the passthrough.
Unlike standard PVC strip curtains, which only have heat tolerance to 180°F, our heat shield strip curtains are designed with two layers of high heat material — one layer of silicone coated fiberglass and one layer of heat reflective aluminized silica cloth for reflection. Other popular applications include heat treating processes to control cure-down temperature.

Standard PVC strip curtains are only rated for temperatures up to 180°F, making them unsuitable for oven, furnace, or heat treating applications. Our high temperature strip curtains use a two-layer system — silicone coated fiberglass combined with heat reflective aluminized silica cloth — rated to withstand temperatures up to 1000°F. This makes them the appropriate choice for any passthrough application where standard PVC strips would fail.
The strip curtain combines one layer of silicone coated fiberglass with one layer of heat reflective aluminized silica cloth. The silicone coated fiberglass layer retains convective heat inside the oven and provides abrasion resistance as materials move through the strips. The aluminized silica cloth layer reflects radiant heat, preventing it from escaping through the oven door opening.
The most common application is covering entry and exit points on continuous conveyor ovens, where product needs to pass through while the oven maintains internal temperature. They’re also widely used in heat treating processes to control cure-down temperature, and on coke ovens that feed parts through during extreme heat industrial processes.
