The Steel Guard Safety HT-2000 is a PTFE (Teflon) coated fiberglass high temperature curtain built for industrial environments that combine elevated heat with chemical exposure, moisture, or weather. Where the HT-1000 is designed for welding and heat shielding applications, the HT-2000 addresses a more specific need: heat curtain applications that also require chemical and weather resistance that standard acrylic coated fiberglass cannot provide.
The HT-2000 uses a gray fiberglass base at 34 oz / .035 inch thick, with a fluorocarbon (PTFE) impregnated coating applied to the fiberglass. This curtain is flexible, used on our track and roller system as a moveable or stationary barrier, and is available with pockets for chain, high heat velcro, extra grommets, and cut-outs.

The key difference is chemical resistance. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene, commonly known by the brand name Teflon) is highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals, solvents, and corrosive agents. It also resists moisture and weathering better than acrylic coatings. The trade-off is temperature rating: the HT-2000 is rated to 600°F, while the HT-1000 acrylic coated option handles up to 1000°F. For applications where chemical resistance is the primary need alongside heat protection, the HT-2000 is the appropriate choice.
